Launchpad V3

Hi Birdies,

Today we shall dive into more details on the workings of our upgraded Launchpad module in SuperLauncher V3. First, let’s refresh your memory on how Launchpad 2.0 worked.

Launchpad 2.0

In this model, stakers participated in sales first, followed by public users. Stakers got guaranteed allocations and those who fell below a certain allocation threshold were placed into a lottery bucket. Stakers were able to burn EGGs to earn higher allocations. There was also an FCFS period for leftover allocations when the sale was opened to the public.

Utilizing this model in a downtrend market did not lead to optimal results so we listened to feedback from the DAO and observed what could be improved. After much brainstorming and testing, we are excited to present Launchpad 3.0 which we believe is a superior allocation model and one which will benefit LAUNCH stakers in all scenarios.

Launchpad V3

The intention is to prioritize our stakers and also to ensure the projects that launch on SuperLauncher have a successful raise. Our two main objectives for this upgraded model are to optimize allocations for LAUNCH stakers (prioritizing stakers) and to allow for rapid filling of the sales (higher possibility of a successful raise).

In this new model, stakers and public users will participate at the same time. However, stakers will get guaranteed and larger allocations. The earlier you purchase, the higher your final allocations.

There will be an additional category, allowlist, introduced to giveaway participation slots to non-stakers who have been engaged in protocol matters. These slots will have bigger allocations than the public users but will be smaller than stakers’ allocations.

We are very eager to see this model in action as a lot of thought has gone into building it and the DAO understands the need for a model that prioritizes LAUNCH stakers. The code is currently being reviewed with the upcoming governance parameters in mind.

You might have noticed that the utility of burning EGGs to get more allocations has been removed in V3. We have decided on more efficient and exciting ways of using EGGs which will be covered in more detail in the next few articles featuring EGG pools and governance :)
